Located in the picturesque town of La Chaux-de-Fonds, Zoo du Bois du Petit-Château is a unique blend of wildlife and science. This cozy park, covering about 3 hectares, was founded back in 1891 and has since become one of the most popular attractions Switzerland offers in this region.

One of the main features of this place is its accessibility: entrance to the park area with the animals remains free of charge. The exhibits primarily focus on European fauna. Here, you can see red deer, powerful mountain goats, mouflons, otters, and even raccoon dogs, living in spacious enclosures that closely mimic their natural habitat.
Since 2022, the zoo has become part of the innovative MUZOO complex, merging with the Natural History Museum. It is now more than just a place for a walk; it is a full-fledged scientific and educational center, featuring a modern vivarium with reptiles and amphibians, as well as a care station for injured wild animals, highlighting the park's commitment to biodiversity conservation.
