Strolling along the waterfront in Avalon, it is impossible to miss one of the most elegant architectural elements of the island. The Catalina Island Company Ticket Booth is not just a place to buy tickets, but a genuine monument to the Art Deco era, located in the lobby of the legendary Catalina Casino building.
Created in 1929 at the initiative of tycoon William Wrigley Jr., this ticket booth is made of cast aluminum, which was the height of technological chic at the time. It is an integral part of a grand complex in the USA that for decades served as a center for social life, dancing, and cinema. The main decoration of the space around the booth consists of nine monumental frescoes by artist John Beckman, depicting stylized seascapes.

Today, this site serves as a starting point for exploring the island's history. Although the building is called a "casino," it was never intended for gambling, but rather served as a "gathering place" for cultural leisure. The height of the entire complex is comparable to a 12-story building, making it a dominant architectural landmark of the bay and a must-see on any tourist's itinerary.
