What to Do

The main reason to visit Malkhas Jazz Club is, undoubtedly, the live jazz concerts. The musical program runs every night, usually starting at 21:00. A special moment of the evening is the performance by the maestro Levon Malkhasyan himself and his group, the Malkhas Jazz Band, who take the stage after midnight, creating an incomparable energy in the room.

Visitors can not only watch the virtuoso play of the masters but also witness exciting jam sessions. Both local talents and world jazz stars regularly appear on this stage, making every visit unique. The intimate setting allows guests to feel like part of the musical action, being in close proximity to the performers.

Besides listening to music, you can have a great time here over dinner. The menu offers a decent selection of Armenian and European dishes, and the cozy tables are perfect for long conversations to the sounds of saxophone and piano. It is an ideal place for those who want to relax in an intellectual and creative environment.

Getting There

The club is located at 52/1 Pushkin Street, making it incredibly accessible for those who enjoy walking through the city center. You can reach the venue on foot from Republic Square or Northern Avenue in just 10–15 minutes. The surrounding area is very lively and safe, perfect for rounding off a busy day.

If you are coming from more distant districts or the airport, the most convenient way is to take a taxi via popular apps like Yandex Go or GG. The ride from Zvartnots Airport takes about 20–30 minutes. For those choosing public transport, buses and minibuses going to the "Pushkin" or "Northern Avenue" stops are suitable.

Car owners should keep in mind that parking in the very center of Yerevan can be difficult, especially on weekend evenings, so walking or taking a taxi are more comfortable options.

History & Facts

The history of this place is inextricably linked with the personality of its founder. Malkhas Jazz Club opened its doors in January 2006, fulfilling the long-held dream of the legendary pianist Levon Malkhasyan. Before this, the maestro had spent a long time developing jazz culture at the famous "Poplavok" (The Float) cafe, turning it into a musical hub, but it was his own club that became his true creative home.

Levon Malkhasyan himself began his career back in 1963, forming Armenia's first jazz trio. His passion for music and organizational talent helped Yerevan maintain its status as one of the region's jazz capitals. Over the years, approximately 700 different groups from all over the world, including world-class stars, have performed on the club's stage.

Armenian jazz has deep roots, dating back to 1938 when the first state jazz orchestra was created. Malkhas Jazz Club continues this glorious tradition, remaining a place where live improvisation and classic sounds intertwine, creating the living history of the country's modern musical culture.

Time Needed

To fully experience the magic of the venue and enjoy high-quality music, we recommend setting aside at least 2–3 hours for your visit. This is enough time to have a leisurely dinner and listen to the main part of the evening program.

If your goal is to see a performance by Levon Malkhasyan himself, who usually takes the stage after midnight, you should plan your evening so you can stay at the club late into the night. True connoisseurs of the genre often spend the entire evening here, immersing themselves in the atmosphere of the jam sessions.
