The São Paulo Cathedral (Catedral da Sé de São Paulo) is one of the most recognizable and significant landmarks in not just the city of São Paulo, but all of Brazil. Located in the very heart of the metropolis on the historic Praça da Sé, this cathedral is the city's primary Catholic center and its most important cultural symbol. The cathedral draws travelers with its grandeur and serves as a starting point for exploring São Paulo's historic heritage.

The cathedral's architecture is designed in a majestic Neo-Gothic style, making it stand out against the city skyline. It is considered one of the largest Neo-Gothic churches in the world: it reaches 111 meters in length, 46 meters in width, and its two massive towers soar 92 meters into the sky. Its enormous 30-meter dome was influenced by Renaissance architecture, reminiscent of the famous cathedral in Florence. Approximately 800 tons of marble were used for the interior decoration, and the column capitals are adorned with unusual elements for a church—coffee beans, pineapples, and animal figures—reflecting the local character.
Inside, the cathedral is striking in its scale and can accommodate up to 8,000 people. In addition to the impressive main hall, the crypt beneath the main altar is well worth a visit, as it contains the tombs of bishops and significant figures in Brazilian history. Special mention goes to the organ, one of the largest in Latin America, consisting of over 12,000 pipes. A visit to the São Paulo Cathedral is a unique opportunity to touch history, enjoy monumental architecture, and experience the spiritual atmosphere of this iconic site.
