Current Weather
General Weather Overview
Paphos, located on the southwest coast of Cyprus, possesses a typical Mediterranean climate. This means that a long, hot, and dry summer awaits you here, along with a mild and wetter winter. The city enjoys a large number of sunny days per year, making it an attractive holiday destination at almost any time.
The summer months, especially from June to September, are characterized by high temperatures, often exceeding 25°C, and an almost complete absence of rainfall. July and August are the hottest and driest months, when rain is extremely unlikely. Winter, from December to February, brings cooler weather with average temperatures around 13-15°C and an increase in precipitation, although severe frosts or snow are a rarity here. Spring and autumn are pleasant transitional seasons with comfortable temperatures and a moderate number of sunny days, ideally suited for excursions and walks.

Precipitation
Paphos has a distinct Mediterranean climate with a clear division into dry and wet seasons. The bulk of precipitation falls during the winter months, while summer is characterized by an almost total absence of it. Snow is an extremely rare and atypical phenomenon for Paphos, so precipitation here is predominantly in the form of rain.

What to Pack
When planning a trip to Paphos, it is important to consider its Mediterranean climate, which ensures pleasant weather for most of the year. In summer, from June to August, when the average temperature ranges from 23.6°C to 26.9°C and there is practically no rainfall, your suitcase should be filled with light and breathable clothing: cotton t-shirts, shorts, sundresses, swimwear, and, of course, a hat. Do not forget sunscreen with high SPF, sunglasses, and comfortable sandals or flip-flops. Evenings can be slightly cooler, so a light cover-up or a long-sleeved shirt will come in handy.
Spring (April-May) and autumn (September-October) in Paphos are times of comfortable temperatures, from 16.9°C to 25.2°C. During these periods, the principle of layering works best. Take t-shirts, light jumpers or cardigans, as well as a windbreaker or light jacket with you, especially for evening walks. Jeans or light trousers will be appropriate. Although there is little rain, especially in April, May, and September, a small foldable umbrella or a light waterproof jacket may be useful in October and November, when the number of rainy days increases slightly. Comfortable shoes for walking around the archaeological parks and the promenade are a must.
The winter months, from December to March, are the coolest and wettest in Paphos, with an average temperature of around 12.9°C - 14.9°C and the highest amount of precipitation (up to 5 mm and 10-16 rainy days per month). You will need warmer items: sweaters, a fleece jacket, a waterproof jacket or coat, jeans, or thick trousers. Closed shoes, possibly water-resistant, would be the best choice. Don't forget an umbrella. A scarf and gloves can add comfort on cooler days, especially if you plan on taking long walks.
