How to get to Mongomo

The nearest foreign airport is located in the Gabonese city of Oyem (just 30 km away), while the major airport in Bata is situated approximately 172 km away. Currently, there is no railway connection to the city of Mongomo, as the local terrain and regional infrastructure are oriented towards road and air transport. Travellers should not expect to arrive here by train.

The travel time will be approximately 5.5 hours, so we recommend departing early in the morning and factoring in time for border formalities if you are crossing the border in a rental car or taxi.

5. Language and Communication: The main language is Spanish, and French is also common. Knowing basic phrases in Spanish will greatly facilitate communication, as English is not understood everywhere.
