What to Do

The main reason people visit this establishment is to taste the signature beer under the Mufloni brand. The selection of varieties is impressive: from refreshing American IPAs with bright tangerine notes to rich stouts that have won prestigious awards. Every sip here tells a story of local brewing craftsmanship.

Connoisseurs of spirits should look out for the rare Old Buck whisky. Since each batch consists of only 60 to 150 bottles, the chance to try this drink is a stroke of luck. The uniqueness of the experience is highlighted by the fact that you can see the distillation equipment with your own eyes, located right at street level.

In addition to tastings, the restaurant offers a full menu where dishes are selected to perfectly complement the flavors of the drinks. If you feel like a change of scenery, Steak & Whisky House Galle is just a few steps away, where you can continue the evening with excellent steaks and cigars.

Getting There

The establishment is located in the very heart of the city at Antinkatu 11. Thanks to this convenient location, the restaurant is just a few minutes' walk from most central hotels.

For those arriving from other parts of the city or suburbs, public transport is a convenient option — bus stops are located in the immediate vicinity of the entrance. If you prefer comfort, you can call a taxi, which will take you to the brewery doors from anywhere in the center in just 5-10 minutes.

Travelers arriving in the region by car will appreciate the convenient road network connecting Pori with other major cities in Finland. You can park your car in nearby city parking lots, after which you can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the historic center.

History & Facts

The history of this iconic venue began on April 8, 1998, when the Heikkinen family — Sinikka, Aku, and their son Mika — opened a small brewery. Over the years, the establishment has grown from a local pub into an internationally recognized distillery, while remaining a family business led by Mika Heikkinen.

A major milestone was 2001, when work on the first Finnish single malt whisky began in the back rooms. As a result, the famous Old Buck was born in 2004. This drink produced a real sensation: renowned expert Jim Murray named one of its releases "European Mainland Whisky of the Year" in his "Whisky Bible 2009" annual.

The brewery also keeps pace with the distillery in terms of awards. For example, their Mufloni Stout won the title of "Best of Show" at the Helsinki Beer Festival back in 2000, and subsequently confirmed its high status in 2011 and 2016. Remarkably, despite such fame, production remains craft-scale: only 4,000 liters of whisky were produced in the first 13 years due to the use of miniature pot stills.

Time Needed

To fully appreciate the range of drinks and sample local dishes, it is recommended to set aside about 2–3 hours for your visit. This is plenty of time for a leisurely tasting of several beer or whisky varieties paired with a full dinner.

If you plan not only to have dinner but also to take a closer look at the distillation process or stop by the neighboring cigar lounge, you can easily budget a bit more time. An evening in the atmosphere of true Finnish craft flies by unnoticed.

Working Hours

The doors are open to guests daily, offering a consistent schedule throughout the week. You can stop by for an early lunch or a late-night glass of craft beverage.

Opening hours: from Monday to Sunday, the restaurant and brewery welcome visitors from 11:00 AM to 02:00 AM.
