At the entrance to the famous Imperial Sluice in Bremerhaven stands an elegant historical structure — the Pingelturm. This compact yet majestic lighthouse, officially known as Leuchtturm Kaiserschleuse Ost, is a vivid testament to the rich maritime past that Germany is famous for.

The tower's total height is 15 meters, and its architectural appearance makes it one of the most recognizable historical landmarks of the northern port. One of the unique features of the structure is the fog bell (Nebelglocke), installed here in 1950. This instrument once provided sound signals to vessels during poor visibility, warning them of the nearby sluice.
Today, the Pingelturm is recognized as a cultural heritage monument. Although modern navigation systems have taken over vessel traffic management, the tower remains an important symbol of tradition and attracts tourists with its authentic atmosphere and the strict forms of classical maritime architecture.
