Although the city has its own small airport, Lübeck (LBC), which serves a limited number of flights, the main aviation hub for travellers is Hamburg (HAM). It is located just 58 km away and receives flights from numerous countries, ensuring excellent connectivity with the region.

Another option would be flying into the city of Rostock (RLG), situated at a distance of 96 km. From both airports, tourists can easily continue their journey to the final destination via ground transport.

Rail travel is one of the most convenient ways to get to Lübeck, as the city boasts a major central station (Lübeck Hauptbahnhof), which is located close to the historical centre. Regular trains connect it with the city of Hamburg, from where the journey takes less than an hour.

Travellers can also arrive via scheduled bus from the city of Rostock. The distance is 142 km, and the travel time is approximately 3.5 hours, allowing you to enjoy the landscapes of northern Germany.

Travelling by car provides flexibility and comfort, allowing you to be independent of schedules. The drive from the city of Hamburg will take just about 1.1 hours to cover the distance of 70 km on high-quality autobahns.

If you are heading from the direction of Rostock, the 124 km journey will require approximately 1.4 hours. It is worth noting that taking a taxi for such distances can be a rather expensive luxury.
