Bibi Ka Maqbara is a magnificent mausoleum located in the city of Aurangabad, in the heart of India. This outstanding monument of Mughal architecture is often called the "Poor Man's Taj" or the "Taj of the Deccan" due to its striking resemblance to the famous wonder of the world in Agra. Built between 1651 and 1661, it is one of the main tourist attractions in the region.

The mausoleum was built by Emperor Aurangzeb in memory of his favorite wife, Rabia-ud-Durrani (according to another version, by their son in honor of his mother). While it may be smaller in scale and less lavish in decoration than the Taj Mahal, Bibi Ka Maqbara impresses with its elegance and harmonious proportions. The building stands on a high square platform, with four minarets rising at the corners, while a graceful dome crowns the composition.
Marble, brick, and sandstone were used for its construction. Notably, marble covers only a portion of the facade, which distinguishes it from the entirely marble Taj Mahal but does not diminish its beauty. The entire complex is surrounded by a garden designed in the traditional "charbagh" style with water channels and fountains, creating an atmosphere of peace and serenity. A visit to Bibi Ka Maqbara is a wonderful opportunity to experience the history and architectural heritage of the Great Mughals.
