How to get to Ziro

There are no direct flights to the valley itself, so flying will be just the first part of your journey. The nearest airport is located in the city of North Lakhimpur (IXI), which receives regional flights. Another convenient option is the airport in the city of Itanagar (HGI), which also serves as an important gateway to the state.

For those traveling from more distant regions, the airport in the city of Jorhat (JRH) may be suitable. From all the listed airports, you can reach the final destination using ground transport, as there is no air connectivity with the valley itself.

The railway network does not reach directly to Ziro; however, the train remains a popular way to get to the region. Tourists are advised to book tickets to the station in the city of North Lakhimpur or to the Naharlagun railway junction, located near the city of Itanagar.
