The climate of Oujda can be characterised as warm and moderately arid, with a noticeable Mediterranean influence. Thanks to its geographical location, the city delights travellers with a large number of sunny days. The weather here changes quite smoothly depending on the season, offering a clear division into a hot, dry summer and a mild, more humid winter.

The summer months, especially July and August, are distinguished by real heat: the average temperature holds around 27°C, and daily highs often exceed 34°C. Precipitation during this period is a rarity; there may be no rain at all. Winter brings long-awaited coolness with average figures around 10–11°C, while the main share of overcast days falls specifically on the cold season and the beginning of spring.

For those who prefer comfortable conditions for walks, the ideal time will be spring and early autumn. In May and October, the air warms up to a pleasant 19–20°C, which allows one to enjoy the atmosphere of the city without exhausting heat or the need to bundle up in warm clothes.

The climate in Oujda is distinguished by distinct seasonality, offering tourists diverse weather conditions depending on the time of year. Winter here is mild, but nights can be quite bracing. The coldest month is traditionally January: at this time, the air warms up during the day to an average of 15-16°C, however, after sunset, the temperature drops sharply, reaching minimums of 3-4°C. Travellers planning a trip in winter should definitely take warm clothing for evening walks.

The summer period in this region of Morocco is characterised by dry and hot weather. The highest temperatures are recorded in July and August, when daily highs consistently stay at the mark of around 34-35°C. Thanks to the practically complete absence of precipitation in these months, the heat is tolerated somewhat more easily than in a humid climate. At the same time, summer nights bring pleasant relief, as the temperature drops to a comfortable 20°C.

An important feature of the local climate is significant daily temperature fluctuations. The difference between the daily maximum and nightly minimum often constitutes 12-15 degrees, which is noticeable at any time of year. The most balanced weather settles in May and October: in these months, the daytime temperature is around 25°C, which is ideal for excursions and long walks around the city without exhausting heat or winter chill.

The climate in Oujda is characterised by an uneven distribution of precipitation, with a clear division into wetter and drier seasons. In general, the city cannot be called excessively rainy: even during periods of increased cloudiness, the volume of falling moisture remains insignificant (only 1–2 mm per month). Precipitation here more often takes the character of light rain or short showers, which are quickly replaced by the sun.

The highest frequency of rains is observed in the spring period. The leaders in the number of "wet" days are March and April, when precipitation can fall during 9–10 days per month. Winter months, especially January, can also bring about a week of overcast weather, but the intensity of rains remains low. Snow is uncharacteristic for this region, so in winter one should expect specifically rain.

Summer marks a pronounced dry season. From June to August, rains become a rarity. The driest month of the year is July, when the probability of precipitation is practically equal to zero. If you are planning a trip in the middle of summer, you will hardly need an umbrella, as the sky over the city remains clear most of the time.

For a summer trip to Oujda, when the daytime temperature often exceeds +30°C, the basis of your wardrobe should consist of items made from light natural fabrics, such as cotton and linen. The sun in Morocco is very active, so be sure to take a wide-brimmed hat or cap, quality sunglasses, and cream with a high protection factor (SPF). Since precipitation is a rarity here in summer, an umbrella can be left at home, but a light long-sleeved shirt will come in handy to protect the skin from direct sunlight during long walks.

If you are planning a journey in winter or at the beginning of spring, be prepared for significant temperature changes: during the day the air warms up to a comfortable +16°C, but at night it can get cold down to +4°C. During this period, the principle of layering works perfectly: wear a t-shirt, a warm jumper or fleece jacket on top, and complete the look with a windbreaker. In spring, especially in March and April, the probability of precipitation increases, so a compact umbrella or raincoat will not take up much space in your luggage but may prove very useful.

Regardless of the season, for exploring the city streets and attractions, you will need comfortable, proven flat-soled shoes suitable for long walking.
