Waipahihi Botanical Reserve is a magnificent 35-hectare forest reserve located in the town of Taupō. This place is rightfully considered a jewel of the region, as it was created from scratch by volunteers. It harmoniously combines the wild nature that New Zealand is famous for with exquisite collections of exotic flowers.

The reserve is known for its impressive collections, featuring over 2,000 rhododendrons, camellias, and azaleas. Strolling along themed trails like the "Floral Walk" or "Camellia Path," visitors are immersed in a sea of colors and scents, surrounded by majestic native kauri and rātā trees.
Beyond the flora, the garden attracts visitors with its panoramic views. From its heights, breathtaking landscapes open up over Lake Taupō-nui-a-Tia, Mount Tauhara, and the distant volcanoes of the Central Plateau. Thanks to active ecosystem protection, the park has become a true sanctuary for native birds, whose chirping accompanies guests throughout their journey.
