Imagine a formidable steel machine frozen in a triumphant pose right in the middle of the city streets. The Mi-24 Helicopter Museum is a unique monument-exhibit located in the city of Rostov-on-Don. It greets visitors in front of the entrance to the famous Rostvertol aircraft plant, serving as a source of pride for local craftsmen and a symbol of the engineering prowess for which Russia is famous.

The centerpiece of the display is a real Mi-24V helicopter with the bright side number "70 red." This legendary transport and combat helicopter, known worldwide by the NATO reporting name Hind, was nicknamed the "Crocodile" by the people. The machine's distinctive appearance, with its characteristic cockpit glazing, also earned it the ironic nickname "the Glass" (Stakan).
The monument was ceremoniously installed in 2009 to mark the 70th anniversary of the plant, which made an invaluable contribution to the production of this helicopter series. Today, this site attracts not only military hardware enthusiasts but also anyone wanting to touch the living history of aviation in the heart of the Don capital.
