In the cozy southern city of Taganrog, which has given the world many talents, stands a touching and recognizable symbol — the Faina Ranevskaya Monument. This bronze sculpture in Russia is dedicated to the great Soviet actress, whose childhood and youth were spent right here, in the ancient quarters on the shores of the Sea of Azov.

The sculptural composition, standing over two meters tall, depicts Ranevskaya in her most famous film role — Lyalya from the movie "The Foundling" (Podkidysh). The figure of the actress, captured with an umbrella and a handbag in her hands, is mounted on a pedestal made of noble red marble. The monument is located right in front of the house where the Feldman family (the actress's real surname) once lived, giving the site special historical value.
\nThe project was created by the well-known sculptor David Begalov. Today, this spot is a mandatory stop on tourist routes: it invariably attracts fans of theatrical art and lovers of Ranevskaya's legendary aphorisms. The monument is rightfully considered one of the city's most "soulful" attractions, conveying the unique charisma of the great actress.
