Antique Car Museum

About

The unique Retro Car Museum, a true gem for those visiting Krasnodar, invites you to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of a bygone era. This is not just an exhibition of old machinery, but the result of 35 years of work by restoration master Artush Babajanyan, who gathered more than 80 rare specimens in perfect condition under one roof.

This venue, rightfully called a "time machine," presents the history of the auto industry, carefully preserved by Russia. Legendary Soviet models like "ZIS," "ZIM," and "Moskvitch" sit alongside rare foreign cars from the beginning of the last century. A special feature of the collection is that all the cars are operational; they regularly participate in retro rallies and city exhibitions.

In addition to the shiny hoods and chrome parts, visitors will find a large-scale exposition of Soviet everyday life items. Old newspapers, letters from the front, and vintage items create a full immersion effect. The halls even preserve "that very" authentic smell of the past, allowing you to experience history not only visually but also through the senses.

What to Do

The main adventure here begins with a guided tour. In 30–40 minutes, an experienced guide will tell amazing stories about how legendary cars were created and restored. After that, guests can freely walk through the halls, exploring the collection at their own pace. Special attention should be paid to the cars with minimal mileage—some exhibits look as if they just rolled off the assembly line decades ago.

The museum encourages an interactive experience: the doors of many cars are slightly ajar, allowing you to peek inside and examine the interior details. Touching many Soviet household items is permitted, making the visit interesting even for children. For fans of striking shots, there is a special photo zone where the stay time is unlimited, allowing you to take memorable photos surrounded by iron legends.

Getting There

Finding this unusual place is easy: the collection is based in the Cheryomushki district. The exact address is 124 Voronezhskaya Street. The museum is actually located on the grounds of an active vehicle restoration workshop, which gives the location a special industrial charm.

The most convenient way to get there is by taxi from the city center or by private car using a navigator with the coordinates POINT(39.0245748 45.0002141). You can also use public transport going to stops near Voronezhskaya Street and then walk, following the workshop signs.

History & Facts

The history of this collection is inextricably linked with family values and a deep respect for the past. The collection of rare cars and military equipment was founded in honor of Alexey Shamar. He was a veteran who served in the Soviet army in China and dedicated his entire life to working in motor columns, maintaining a passion for machines until his final days.

The museum grew out of a specialized workshop that has been involved in professional restoration for over 35 years. During this time, the owner, Artush Babajanyan, has managed not only to save dozens of rare specimens from destruction but also to assemble an impressive collection of Soviet everyday life artifacts.

Today, the museum is positioned as an important contribution to cultural heritage, preserving the history of the domestic auto industry for future generations. Here, you can trace the entire evolution of engineering thought—from luxurious Stalin-era limousines to mass-produced "people's" models that were once the dream of every Soviet person.

Time Needed

To leisurely explore all the exhibits and soak in the nostalgic atmosphere, visitors usually need about 2–3 hours. This is quite enough time to listen to the guide's stories and independently examine the interior details of the vintage cars.

A standard tour lasts 30–40 minutes, after which you are free to stay in the halls as long as you like. Be sure to budget extra time for a photo shoot, as the number of interesting angles and small details in the exhibition is simply overwhelming.

Working Hours

When planning your visit, keep in mind that the museum is normally open to everyone only on Sundays from 10:00 to 18:00. This is an ideal time for family leisure on a day off.

It is also possible to visit the exhibition on weekdays, but strictly by prior appointment. Before your trip, we recommend checking the information on the official website to ensure the schedule is up to date.
