Kremlin Park is one of the main green gems of Veliky Novgorod and an integral part of its historical center. Located on the Sophia side, it forms a picturesque semi-circle around the mighty walls of the ancient Novgorod Kremlin, also known as the Detinets. The park covers an impressive area of about 25 hectares and is not just a recreational area but an important cultural heritage site. Its history dates back to the 19th century, when it was decided to create a Summer Garden on the site of the former defensive ramparts.
Today, Kremlin Park is a beautifully landscaped area where shady alleys and well-kept squares create an atmosphere of peace and seclusion. Here, you can take a leisurely stroll, enjoying the views of the fortress walls and towers, or relax on benches near the fountains. The park adjoins the Volkhov River embankment, which adds to its charm and offers beautiful panoramic views. It is a favorite spot for walks for both city residents and numerous tourists.
