Here, 16 diverse quests await you, each consisting of several consecutive rooms. The main feature of this place is the complete absence of screens or digital simulations. All tasks, whether they test agility or involve complex logic puzzles, are solved in physical space, requiring maximum engagement and teamwork from participants.

The challenges are divided by physical intensity: from relaxed green quests, suitable even for wheelchair users, to extreme black ones that require jumping and significant stamina. It’s the perfect spot for groups of 3 to 5 people, where everyone can showcase their strengths in an unusual underground setting.

What to Do

At Boda Borg, your main task is to work together. The process starts by scanning a barcode at the door of your chosen quest. Inside each room, the team has only 3 minutes to solve the task. If you make a mistake or run out of time, a red light comes on, and the team must restart the quest or choose a different adventure. Successfully completing all rooms unlocks the coveted box with a stamp at the finish.

There are 49 different challenges available in total. You might need to navigate a maze without touching the floor, crack a complex code, or demonstrate incredible balancing skills. The traffic light system above the doors tells you if a quest is free: green invites you in, while yellow asks you to wait a moment.

After the intense physical and mental exertion at Boda Borg Skellefteå, you can relax in a rented sauna or grab a snack at the local cafe. Since the quests involve active movement, be sure to bring comfortable sportswear and indoor shoes. To guarantee a spot, especially on weekends, booking in advance is recommended.

Getting There

Reaching this underground world of adventure is quite easy, as it's only a 10–15 minute drive from central Skellefteå. If you are traveling by personal or rental car, follow the signs to Vitberget—there is convenient parking located next to the complex.

For those who prefer public transport, take a city bus to the stop at the foot of the mountain. From there, it's a short walk uphill. You can also always use a local taxi, which will take you directly to the entrance of the complex.

If you are coming from other regions of Sweden, the airports in Umeå or Luleå are the most convenient landmarks. The drive from there takes about an hour and a half to two hours along scenic northern highways. In the summer, cycling to Vitberget is a popular way to get there among locals.

History & Facts

The Boda Borg concept was born in Sweden in 1994, when the first such center opened in the village of Boda. The core idea was to create a reality where teamwork and ingenuity are more important than virtual points. In Skellefteå, the project found a truly unique home, situated in the tunnels of former military bunkers in Mount Vitberget.

Using underground facilities at a depth of 100 meters gives the attraction a special atmosphere of mystery. In 2011, ICON Studios even released an informational film about the center, highlighting its significance as one of the most technologically advanced and interesting spots for active recreation in the region.

One of Boda Borg's key features is its commitment to constant renewal. To keep guests coming back, the management changes about 20% of all challenges every year. This turns the center into a living, constantly evolving organism where a completely new challenge can be hidden behind every door.

Time Needed

To fully enjoy all the center has to offer, it's recommended to set aside 2 to 5 hours for your visit. The first hour is usually spent learning the rules, warming up, and adapting to the gameplay, especially if the center is busy and there are wait times for popular quests.

If you plan to try your hand at most of the challenges and take a break at the cafe, it's best to schedule a full 4–5 hours. This will allow you to take your time and complete levels of varying difficulty without feeling exhausted halfway through.

Working Hours

The adventure center operates on a consistent schedule, although guests have the chance to stay later on Fridays. From Monday to Thursday, and on Saturdays, doors are open from 10:00 to 17:00. Friday is the longest day, with quests available until 21:00. On Sunday, the complex opens a bit later, at 12:00, and operates until 17:00.

Please note that opening hours may change during public holidays or school vacations. It is highly recommended to check the information on the official website before your trip to ensure your visit goes as planned.
