Stretching for 870 meters, the Musegg Wall is remarkably well-preserved today and includes nine original towers that once served as reliable city defenses. It is one of the few examples of such well-surviving city walls in all of Switzerland, making it a unique monument of medieval architecture and fortification art.
Of particular interest to visitors are the four towers open to the public. Among them, the Zytturm stands out, famous for its ancient city clock created in 1535. This clock has a unique feature—it strikes the time one minute earlier than all other clocks in Lucerne, which is a distinctive local tradition.
In addition to its historical and architectural value, the Musegg Wall serves as a magnificent observation deck. A walk along the wall and a climb up the towers offer breathtaking panoramic views of Lucerne's old town, the picturesque Lake Lucerne, and the surrounding Alpine peaks, leaving every visitor with unforgettable impressions.
