The Mem and Zin Mausoleum is a deeply revered historical shrine and architectural monument located in the ancient city of Cizre. As a cultural treasure of Turkey, this site is a tomb tucked away in the basement of the Abdaliye Madrasa.

This place gained worldwide fame thanks to the legend of Mem and Zin—the Kurdish version of the story of eternal and tragic love. There are three graves in the mausoleum: the lovers themselves and their antagonist, Bekri. The complex is considered a spiritual center where mystical folklore intertwines with real 15th-century history.
Built in 1487 by Emir Abdal ibn Abdullah Seyfettin Boti, the mausoleum impresses with its austere architecture and atmosphere of peace. For tourists, it is more than just a museum; it is a place of power that allows visitors to touch the living heritage of the East and feel the spirit of the old city.
