The establishment operates as a cooperative owned by the local community, which creates a unique, truly welcoming, and democratic atmosphere. In addition to a concert hall with a capacity of about 100 people, it houses a gallery, rehearsal rooms, and even a small, cozy cinema.

One of the standout features of Le Pub is its fully vegan menu, which is highly regarded not only by vegetarians but by all lovers of quality cuisine. The venue's progressive approach is evident in everything—from the selection of independent beers to its gender-inclusive environment.

What to Do

The main reason to visit Le Pub is the live music. Here, you can catch performances by both local punk bands and international artists working in rock, indie, and alternative genres. The small size of the hall guarantees a fully immersive experience and close contact with the performers.

Be sure to try dishes from the local menu—the restaurant is famous for its vegan burgers and snacks, which pair perfectly with the wide selection of craft beers. For creative souls, there is a gallery featuring works by local artists, and the venue occasionally hosts comedy shows and poetry evenings.

Visitors can do more than just relax; they can also create: the building features recording studios and rehearsal spaces. It is the perfect place for those who want to discover the alternative side of life in Wales and connect with like-minded people in a non-commercial, stereotype-free environment.

History & Facts

The iconic Le Pub began its history in 1992 on Caxton Place, quickly becoming a vital spot on the music map that the United Kingdom is famous for. For nearly 25 years, the venue remained loyal to the alternative scene, despite economic changes in the region.

In 2017, the project experienced a rebirth: due to the sale of the building, the venue moved to High Street. This move was made possible thanks to colossal support from volunteers and the city council, with funding raised by selling shares to the visitors and friends of the club themselves, turning it into a community-owned space.

In early 2024, Le Pub's status was finally secured: it became the fifth venue in the country to be purchased by the Music Venue Trust Property Scheme to protect it from commercial risks. Today, this legendary spot is considered a benchmark of resilience and independence in the live music industry.

Time Needed

For a casual visit to grab a bite and a glass of craft beer, 1–2 hours should be plenty. This is enough time to appreciate the interior and the venue's unique atmosphere.

However, if you plan to attend one of the evening concerts, a comedy show, or a film screening, you should set aside at least 4 hours. Le Pub often draws guests in for the whole night thanks to its rich program and friendly community.

Working Hours

Le Pub warmly opens its doors daily. On weekdays, the venue is open from 14:00 to 01:00, and on Fridays and Saturdays, the fun continues deep into the night—until 03:00.

Since the club regularly hosts special events and private gigs, we strongly recommend checking the current schedule on the official website before your visit.
