What to Do

The main reason to visit is, of course, the live jazz. From Wednesday to Sunday, talented performers take the stage, playing everything from classic standards to modern jazz. Special attention should be given to the Sunday jam sessions, where the atmosphere becomes wonderfully laid-back, and unexpected star guests often make an appearance.

Gourmets should explore the restaurant menu, which offers European classics. Try the tender escargot, carpaccio, or the traditional German apple strudel. Many visitors come specifically for the Sunday brunch to enjoy a meal accompanied by live piano, creating a uniquely romantic mood.

At the jazz club, you can do more than just listen to music; you can also enjoy signature cocktails or vintage wines at the retro-style bar. It is an ideal spot for a date or a soulful evening with friends, where every element—from the lighting to the menu—works together to recreate the feel of good old 1940s New York.

Getting There

The legendary jazz club is located at 7 N Orlando Ave, right in the heart of Cocoa Beach. It is easy to find: the venue is within walking distance of iconic spots like the Cocoa Beach Pier and the world-famous Ron Jon Surf Shop.

If you are traveling by car, the drive from the Space Coast or Cape Canaveral will take no more than 10–15 minutes. Public parking is available near the club, though spaces can fill up quickly in the evening. For tourists coming from Orlando, a taxi or rideshare trip will take about an hour.

Within the city itself, you can use local bus routes that run along the coast. The venue's convenient location makes it a perfect final chord after a day at the beach or exploring local attractions.

History & Facts

The history of this remarkable place began in 1992, when spouses Eddie and Heidi Deleu decided to realize their dream of combining fine dining and high-quality music. Over three decades, Heidi's Jazz Club & Restaurant has evolved from a cozy family eatery into the premier jazz venue of Brevard County.

Sadly, Heidi Deleu passed away in 2020, but her husband Eddie made every effort to preserve the club's unique atmosphere and legacy. Later, the establishment came under the management of long-time club enthusiast Ori Tal, who has maintained the vintage charm of New York jazz bars from the 1930s and 40s, making only subtle improvements to the interior and equipment.

Over the years, true jazz legends have performed on this stage. One landmark event was the recording of singer Simone Kopmajer's live album, "It Don’t Mean A Thing," which was recorded entirely within the walls of Heidi's, capturing its impeccable acoustics and vibrant energy for listeners worldwide.

Time Needed

To fully soak in the atmosphere of the venue, we recommend setting aside 2 to 3 hours for your visit. This is plenty of time for a leisurely dinner in the restaurant area followed by a musical set in the jazz hall.

If you plan to attend the Heidi’s Sunday Open Jam Session or a special themed evening, it is worth budgeting about 4 hours. The live performances here are so captivating that guests often stay until closing, enjoying the virtuoso playing of the musicians and the signature cocktails.

Working Hours

When planning your evening, please note that the venue is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. On other days, the doors of Heidi's Jazz Club & Restaurant are open to guests at the following times:

  • Wednesday and Thursday: 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM
  • Friday: 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM
  • Saturday: 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM
