Preparation for a journey with World2Fly begins with packing your suitcases correctly. To ensure airport check-in is quick and hassle-free, it is important to familiarize yourself with the airline's baggage carriage rules in advance. Given that the carrier specializes in long-haul flights to exotic resorts, passenger comfort and clear regulations play a key role here.
Cabin Baggage Allowance
World2Fly passengers can take one piece of hand luggage into the aircraft cabin free of charge. The maximum weight of the bag is usually 10 kg, and dimensions must not exceed 50x40x25 cm (including wheels and handles). This is sufficient to carry essential in-flight items, documents, and gadgets.
In addition to the main bag, one small personal item is permitted, such as a handbag, briefcase, or laptop bag. Its dimensions must allow it to fit under the seat in front (approximately 35x20x20 cm). It is important to remember that at the check-in counter, staff may ask you to place your hand luggage in a calibrator to verify dimensions.
Checked Baggage
Baggage allowance in the hold depends on the fare selected when purchasing the ticket. A standard piece of luggage with World2Fly is calculated for a weight of up to 23 kg. The maximum size of the suitcase by the sum of three dimensions (length + width + height) is usually 158 cm.
- If you are travelling with children, an additional baggage allowance (usually 10 kg) is often provided for each infant (under 2 years), as well as free carriage of a collapsible stroller.
- For passengers planning a long holiday, it is recommended to check your fare in advance: in some promo tickets, baggage may not be included or must be added for a separate fee.
Excess Baggage and Fees
If your suitcase weighs more than the allowed 23 kg, you will have to pay for the excess weight. The maximum allowable weight for a single piece of luggage, even with an additional payment, is strictly limited to 32 kg due to international health and safety regulations for baggage handlers. Anything heavier must be processed as cargo. It is more cost-effective to pay for additional baggage or excess weight in advance via the airline's website ("Booking Management"), as rates at the airport before departure will be significantly higher.
Special Baggage
Active leisure enthusiasts often fly on World2Fly flights with their own equipment. The carriage of bicycles, surfboards, golf or diving gear, as well as musical instruments, requires prior approval.
Such baggage is not included in the standard allowance and is charged according to special rates. Equipment must be securely packed in protective cases to avoid damage during transport. It is recommended to book space for non-standard baggage at least 48 hours before departure by contacting the support service.
Restrictions and Prohibitions
For safety purposes, strict rules exist regarding what cannot be carried.
- In Hand Luggage: Sharp and cutting objects, imitation weapons, and liquids in containers exceeding 100 ml are prohibited. Exceptions are made for baby food and medicines required during the flight (with a prescription).
- In Checked Baggage: It is strictly forbidden to check in lithium batteries (power banks), electronic cigarettes, and lighters — these must be taken with you into the cabin. Explosives, flammable liquids, and gases are also prohibited.
Packing Tips
To ensure your journey starts on a positive note, follow a few simple recommendations:
Firstly, be sure to weigh your suitcases at home before leaving for the airport to avoid the stress of repacking at the check-in counter. Secondly, remove old tags with barcodes from previous trips — this helps the automated sorting system direct your luggage correctly. Finally, place a note with your name and phone number inside the suitcase and in an outer pocket in case the external tag comes off.
