In the heart of the picturesque town of San Martín de los Andes lies a unique place — La Pastera Museo del Che. This is not just an exhibition, but an authentic historical building, an old wooden barn recognized as an important architectural and cultural heritage that Argentina is proud of.

The museum is dedicated to the early years of Ernesto "Che" Guevara. It was here in January 1952 that the young Ernesto, along with his friend Alberto Granado, stayed during their famous motorcycle journey across Latin America. The permanent exhibition "When Ernesto Dreamed of Che" carefully preserves photographs, personal letters, and documents, allowing visitors to trace the transformation of an ordinary student into an iconic figure of the 20th century.
Today, La Pastera is a modern interactive space where history comes to life through multimedia screens and rare archival footage. Managed by the Association of State Workers, the museum has become an integral part of the region's identity, attracting tourists with its authentic atmosphere and deep attention to the details of the "comandante's" youth in the harsh but beautiful conditions of Patagonia.
