The climate of Damanhur is typical for northern Egypt and is characterized as desert. Due to its location in the western part of the Nile Delta, the city is shielded from the extreme temperature fluctuations common in the southern regions of the country. Sunny weather prevails throughout the year, and its proximity to the Mediterranean Sea makes the climate slightly more temperate compared to inland areas.

Two main seasons are clearly defined in this region: a hot summer and a mild winter. The period from May to September is marked by abundant sunshine and a near-total absence of precipitation. The transitional seasons—spring and autumn—are considered the most comfortable for tourists, offering stable warmth without exhausting heat, which is ideal for exploring local attractions.

One of the main features of the local climate is its stability: sharp weather anomalies rarely occur here. Precipitation is extremely infrequent, and even in the winter months, the sky most often remains a clear blue. Low humidity makes high temperatures easier to bear, although the abundance of sunlight requires the mandatory use of sun protection.

The temperature regime in Damanhur follows a classic pattern for northern Egypt. The hottest months are traditionally July and August, when daytime temperatures steadily reach +33–35°C, and sometimes higher. During this period, even the nights remain very warm—around +24°C—creating an atmosphere of endless summer.

The winter period, falling in January and February, brings a pleasant coolness. Daytime temperatures at this time range between +18–20°C, resembling a warm European spring. However, it is worth considering significant daily fluctuations: after sunset, the air can cool down quickly to +10°C and below, requiring warm clothing for evening outings.

The "wettest" period occurs in winter—from December to February. During this time, short-lived showers are possible, bringing the bulk of the annual moisture. In January, the rainiest month, an average of up to 6 rainy days is recorded. Such precipitation is usually local and quickly gives way to sunny weather. Snow in this part of the Nile Delta is an absolutely exceptional and unlikely phenomenon.

Throughout the rest of the year, especially from April to September, absolute drought prevails. In mid-summer, the probability of precipitation is less than 1%, making the region one of the sunniest in the world. Rare fogs may be observed in the early morning during the winter, but they quickly dissipate with sunrise, without interfering with travelers' plans.

When heading to Damanhur in the summer, prioritize clothing made from natural fabrics, such as cotton and linen. Be sure to bring a wide-brimmed hat, high-quality sunglasses, and SPF 50+ sunscreen to protect yourself from the intense sun of Egypt. For walking around the city, it is best to choose comfortable closed-toe shoes to protect your feet from dust and sand.

For a trip during the winter months, the principle of layering is crucial. You will be comfortable in light clothing during the day, but a warm sweater, jeans, and a light jacket are essential for evening walks, as temperatures after sunset can drop to +6–10°C.
