Alte Dreherei is a majestic monument of industrial architecture located in the city of Mülheim, Germany. Built in 1874, the building is the oldest surviving structure of a former railway repair plant. This red-brick "industrial cathedral," covering more than 2,500 square meters, impresses with its scale and historical significance.

The main feature of the building lies in its unique architecture: arched windows and stepped friezes give it a resemblance to a Romanesque basilica. Inside, visitors will find a rare wooden roof construction supported by 44 steel columns, which has been preserved almost in its original state since the time of construction.
Today, Alte Dreherei is not just a monument but a vibrant multifunctional center for industrial culture. The site is part of the famous Industrial Heritage Trail (Route der Industriekultur) and serves as a meeting place for technology, history, and culture enthusiasts, bridging the past and present of the Ruhr region.
