The Madhya Pradesh Tribal Museum, also known as the Museum of Mankind (Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya), is one of the most significant cultural landmarks in Bhopal, located in the heart of India. It is a unique open-air anthropological museum spread across the scenic Shyamla Hills. Its primary mission is to tell the story of humanity and preserve the rich heritage of the country's indigenous peoples, known here as Adivasis.

The museum's exhibition offers a large-scale immersion into the lifestyle and culture of more than 450 Indian tribes. Here, you can see life-sized recreations of dwellings from various ethnic groups—from coastal and desert villages to Himalayan settlements. A rich collection of household items, tools, ritual artifacts, and artworks allows visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the traditions, beliefs, and social structures of these unique communities.
In addition to the open-air ethnographic exhibitions, the complex includes the State Museum. Its halls house an impressive archaeological collection, including ancient temple sculptures and exquisite Mughal miniatures. This combination makes the Madhya Pradesh Tribal Museum a place of interest not only for anthropologists but for anyone fascinated by ancient history and art.
