The climate in Vadodara, India, is characterised as tropical savanna, with distinct dry and wet seasons. Overall, the city is distinguished by hot weather throughout most of the year. Temperatures begin to rise noticeably from March, peaking in April and May, when daily highs can approach 40°C. The winter months, from December to February, bring more moderate and comfortable temperatures, although they remain quite warm.

The most significant feature of Vadodara's climate is the monsoon season, which typically lasts from June to September. This period sees the bulk of annual rainfall, with July and August being the wettest months with the highest number of wet days. The pre-monsoon period (March-May) is a hot and dry season with virtually no rainfall. From October to May, precipitation is minimal, making this time predominantly dry and sunny, save for a short transition period after the monsoon.

Vadodara is characterised by a hot climate for most of the year, with clearly defined seasons. The highest temperatures are typically observed in May, when the average reaches 33.7°C, and daily highs can approach 39.6°C. This month marks the peak of the pre-monsoon heat. The coolest month is January, with an average temperature of 21.2°C and night-time lows dropping to an average of 14.7°C. When planning a trip to Vadodara, it is important to consider the weather conditions, which change noticeably throughout the year. From March to May, the city is very hot, with average maximum temperatures reaching 35-40°C, so be sure to bring light, breathable clothing made from natural fabrics (cotton, linen), high SPF sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses. Rainfall during this period is minimal.

From June to September, the monsoon season arrives in Vadodara. Temperatures remain high (around 30-36°C), but rainfall and the number of wet days increase significantly, especially in July and August. During this period, you will need a waterproof jacket or a sturdy umbrella, quick-drying clothes, and shoes that you don't mind getting wet, or waterproof sandals. From October to February, the weather becomes milder and more pleasant. At this time, it is recommended to use the layering principle: during the day you will be comfortable in light clothing, but for the evening and early morning, you may need a light jumper, cardigan, or thin jacket. Rainfall during this period is insignificant, but an umbrella just in case wouldn't hurt, especially in October.
