Perched atop Mount Bonadi, the medieval Arechi Castle is the primary architectural landmark that Salerno offers its guests. This majestic outpost, located 300 meters above sea level in sunny Italy, served as an impregnable guardian of the Tyrrhenian coast for centuries.

Today, the complex is a magnificent example of fortification art. The central building is surrounded by powerful walls connecting several massive towers. Thanks to careful restoration carried out after a flood in the middle of the last century, visitors can examine the masonry and structure of the ancient building in detail.
The castle's greatest treasures are undoubtedly its panoramic terraces. From here, breathtaking views open up over the entire Gulf of Salerno and the Amalfi Coast. The castle looks particularly striking in the evening, when artistic lighting emphasizes its rugged yet harmonious silhouette against the night sky.
