Hidden behind the massive walls of an ancient fortress, the Andalusian Gardens are a true oasis in the heart of Rabat. This picturesque sanctuary, also known as Jardin Andalous, is a magnificent example of classical Islamic landscape art. Here, amidst precise geometric lines and cool fountains, visitors to Morocco can experience true tranquility.

The garden's architecture is thought out to the smallest detail: well-kept hedges, mosaic paths, and high walls draped with vibrant bougainvillea create an atmosphere of seclusion. The central courtyards are decorated with traditional tiling that captures the essence of Moorish style, while the gentle sound of water in the pools adds to the overall sense of harmony and coolness, even on the hottest day.
The grounds are home to approximately 650 plant species characteristic of the Maghreb region. You can find majestic cypresses, centuries-old palms, and lemon and orange trees, whose fragrance mingles with the delicate scent of jasmine. Thanks to its unique terraced layout descending toward the river, this site is rightfully considered one of the richest botanical gardens in the world and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
