The climate in Maungdaw, located on the picturesque coast of Rakhine State in Myanmar, is classified as tropical monsoon. This region is characterized by three distinct seasons: the relatively cool season (November to February), the hot season (March to May), and the rainy period (June to October). Its proximity to the Andaman Sea makes the weather quite humid and the landscapes incredibly lush and green.

The local climate is generally characterized by consistent warmth and abundant sunlight during the dry season. The cool period is considered the most comfortable for tourists, as the heat recedes and the skies remain clear. At the same time, the monsoon season brings heavy downpours to Maungdaw, transforming the tropical landscape and making it exceptionally vibrant and lush.

Temperatures in Maungdaw remain consistently warm throughout the year, though daily fluctuations can be quite noticeable. The hottest period is spring, especially March and April, when average daily highs reach +32...+33°C, and on some days, the heat can soar to an extreme +40°C. During this time, humidity rises, creating a greenhouse effect before the start of the monsoons.
