History & Facts

The history of this modern complex began in 2005. Its opening was the result of a large-scale renovation and the unification of several historic buildings located along the Storkaia waterfront. The project was executed so professionally that the developers were honored with the municipality's architectural award for best construction (byggeskikkpris).

Initially, the center was known to residents and visitors as Amfi Storkaia. However, in September 2019, the facility officially joined the large Norwegian Alti chain, changing its signage to the now-familiar Alti Storkaia. This change facilitated the introduction of new service standards and an expanded range of brands.

The architectural design of the shopping center deserves special attention: the creators successfully integrated a modern multi-functional facility into the traditional urban landscape. Today, the complex is not just a place to shop but an essential part of the urban environment, preserving the characteristic character of the port district.

Time Needed
