How to get to Sogndal

The fastest way to reach the region is to take a direct flight to Sogndal Airport (SOG), located in the immediate vicinity of the city. This air hub receives regular flights from major cities in Norway, ensuring convenient connections for tourists.

Alternatively, you can consider flying to neighboring cities such as Førde or Sandane, which are located approximately 70–80 kilometers from the destination. However, arriving directly in Sogndal significantly saves time and eliminates the need for a long transfer.

Travelers should note that the city of Sogndal does not have its own railway station, so it is impossible to get here exclusively by train. The railway network in this region of Norway is limited by the complex mountain terrain, and the nearest major cities, such as Førde or Sandane, also do not have rail connections.

The optimal option for train enthusiasts is to travel to one of the major hub stations on the Oslo-Bergen line (for example, Myrdal or Voss), and then transfer to a bus.
