The Pyatigorsk Cable Car is not just a means of transport, but a true engineering wonder and one of the hallmarks of the city of Pyatigorsk, located in Russia. It is a passenger pendulum-type cable car without supports that quickly and comfortably takes you to the summit of Mount Mashuk, offering breathtaking panoramic views. This unique structure allows tourists to easily reach one of the region's main natural attractions.

The principle of the cable car's operation is based on a pendulum system. Two cabins move toward each other, driven by a traction cable. Operation is controlled by an electric motor located at the upper station. Each cabin moves along its own carrying cable, and they depart from the stations simultaneously, meeting exactly in the middle of the way. This system ensures a smooth and safe ascent.
The technical specifications of the road are impressive: the total length of each carrying cable is 1,100 meters. When tensioned, each cable, along with the cabin and passengers, is held by a massive counterweight weighing 42 tons. It is important to note that the carrying cables have a fourfold safety margin, which guarantees high reliability for the entire structure. The weight of one linear meter of such a cable reaches 13 kg, emphasizing the scale of this engineering project.
