On the waterfront of Batumi, right at the edge of the Black Sea, stands one of the most impressive and touching attractions of modern Georgia — the kinetic sculpture "Ali and Nino". This is not just a monument, but a whole performance symbolizing eternal love that overcomes any obstacles and boundaries. Created by the talented Georgian sculptor Tamara Kvesitadze, this composition has become the true heart of Batumi Boulevard.
The sculpture consists of two eight-meter figures of a man and a woman made of segmented metal plates. During the day, they stand motionless opposite each other, but every evening the magic begins: the figures start to move. Slowly approaching, they pass through each other, merging for a moment into a single whole, and then just as smoothly diverge to repeat their dance again the next day. This entire cycle takes about 10 minutes and tells a poignant story of meeting, union, and inevitable parting.

The sight looks especially mesmerizing after dark when bright neon lighting is turned on, emphasizing every curve and movement of the semi-transparent figures. The sculpture is inspired by the novel of the same name, which tells of the love between Ali, an Azerbaijani Muslim, and Nino, a Georgian Christian, giving this work of art even greater depth and emotionality. "Ali and Nino" is a place where modern art, technology, and an eternal love story create an unforgettable impression.
