General Weather Overview

The climate of Arrecife can safely be called one of the most comfortable and stable in the world. The city is influenced by a dry subtropical climate, often described as "eternal spring". There are virtually no sharp temperature fluctuations here, and the weather remains pleasant and warm throughout the year, making the resort an ideal travel destination regardless of the season.

There is no distinct change of seasons here. Summer delights with comfortable warmth with averages around +21…+22°C, allowing you to enjoy the sun without exhausting heat. Winter in Arrecife is exceptionally mild: the thermometer rarely drops below +17°C even in the coldest months, such as January and February. The difference between summer and winter temperatures is minimal, creating the feeling of an endless mild season.

A characteristic feature of the weather is the extremely low amount of rainfall. Rain is a great rarity here, and even in the nominally "wet" winter period, the number of rainy days does not exceed two or three per month. Most of the time, the sky over the city remains clear and cloudless, guaranteeing tourists excellent conditions for walking and beach holidays all year round.

Temperature

Arrecife is famous for its uniquely mild climate, often called "eternal spring". There are no sharp temperature spikes here: the year passes smoothly, with minimal difference between seasons. The coolest month is usually February with an average of about 17.3°C, while the peak heat occurs in August and September, when the air warms up to an average of 22.3°C. This makes the city attractive to visit at any time of year.

Summer in Arrecife offers pleasant warmth without the extreme heat characteristic of continental Spain. Maximum temperatures in August rarely exceed 23.2°C, which, combined with the lack of rainfall, creates ideal conditions for relaxation. The winter period here is exceptionally mild and comfortable: even in January and December, the temperature stays within 17-18°C, allowing you to forget about frost and warm clothing.

A characteristic feature of the weather in Arrecife is the remarkable stability of daily temperatures. The difference between day and night readings is minimal and often amounts to just about one or two degrees. For example, on a summer night, the temperature drops only to 21.4°C, remaining almost as warm as during the day. Such consistent figures ensure maximum comfort for tourists sensitive to weather changes.

Precipitation

Arrecife is a true paradise for sunny weather lovers, where precipitation is an extremely rare occurrence. The city's climate is characterized by exceptional dryness throughout the year. Even in the winter period, when the temperature drops slightly, the probability of prolonged downpours is minimal, and there is no snow here at all.

The "wettest" time of year can tentatively be called the period from December to February, when an average of about 3 rainy days per month is recorded. However, even in these months, precipitation is usually short-lived and barely noticeable, leaving most of the time for walks under a clear sky.

The summer season, starting from May right through to September, is absolutely dry. According to statistics, the number of rainy days in these months is zero. This makes Arrecife an ideal place for a beach holiday, where nothing will stop you from enjoying the sun and the sea.

What to Pack

Arrecife welcomes travellers with a mild and comfortable climate year-round, often referred to as "eternal spring". Since the air temperature here is stable and fluctuates in a pleasant range from +16°C to +23°C, you won't need heavy winter clothes. However, given the island location and frequent ocean breezes, the main principle when packing your suitcase should be layering. Take light T-shirts and shirts for the day, but be sure to pack a windbreaker, a thick hoodie, or a denim jacket to feel cosy during evening walks when the wind can be cool.

The difference between seasons here is small, but it is worth considering. In the winter months (from January to March), when the average temperature hovers around +17°C, jeans or trousers and closed shoes will come in handy. In summer and early autumn (August-September), when the air warms up to the maximum (+23°C), the basis of your wardrobe will be shorts, light dresses, and sandals. Precipitation in Arrecife is an extremely rare phenomenon, so an umbrella or raincoat will likely lie in your suitcase unused, but comfortable trainers for long walks around the city and its surroundings are simply essential.

Pay special attention to protection from the sun and wind. Even if the temperature seems low, ultraviolet radiation is very active here at any time of year. Be sure to bring high-factor sunscreen, quality sunglasses, and headwear (a cap or hat that fits tightly and won't fly off in a gust of wind). And, of course, don't forget your swimwear: the ocean and beaches of Arrecife are attractive to holidaymakers regardless of the month on the calendar.
