What to Do

The main reason tourists come here is, of course, for indoor skydiving flights. Under the supervision of an experienced instructor, you can experience the sensation of freefall, learn to control your body in the airflow, and perhaps even perform your first tricks. You will be provided with all the necessary equipment: a flight suit, helmet, and goggles, so you only need to bring comfortable lace-up shoes.

If you are not quite ready to fly yet, you can have a great time here as a spectator. The transparent walls of the tunnel allow you to watch the emotions of the "flying" people and the skill of professional athletes who often train here. It is a captivating spectacle that leaves no one indifferent.

After a dose of adrenaline, guests can relax in the local bar-restaurant located right within the complex. It is an excellent place to grab a bite, have a refreshing drink, and discuss your impressions in a cozy setting while watching other visitors fly through the panoramic windows.

Getting There

Getting to the RealFly complex is easy, as it is located in an accessible part of the city. If you are traveling by car, head to Rue de la Drague 58. This area is close to Sion Airport, and there are usually parking spaces available near the complex.

For those who prefer public transport, it is most convenient to travel to the Sion train station. From there, you can take local bus routes heading towards the western part of the city or catch a taxi. A taxi ride from the center or the station takes just a few minutes, making the location easily accessible for tourists without their own vehicle.

History & Facts

Interestingly, RealFly became the first freefall simulator (wind tunnel) opened in Switzerland. The arrival of this facility marked a new era for extreme sports enthusiasts in the region, providing the opportunity to train in skydiving all year round, regardless of the weather conditions outside.

The technology used in this complex creates a powerful and smooth vertical airflow, with speeds that can reach 200 km/h and higher. The engineering design ensures minimal turbulence, making the flight safe and comfortable even for children and beginners trying their hand as parachutists for the first time.

The place quickly gained popularity not only as a tourist attraction but also as a professional training base. You can often encounter experienced athletes and teams here honing complex acrobatic elements before international competitions, adding a special atmosphere of mastery and sport to the location.

Time Needed

To fully experience RealFly and comfortably go through all the stages, a visitor usually needs from 1.5 to 2 hours. This time includes not just the flight itself, but also the necessary preparatory procedures: registration, changing into special gear, and a detailed safety briefing.

The actual session in the wind tunnel lasts several minutes (depending on the chosen package), but the emotions are so vivid that many guests prefer to stay longer. After the flight, you can view your photos and videos, as well as relax in the café area while watching the tricks of instructors or other visitors, so it is better not to plan a rushed visit.

Working Hours

The operating schedule of RealFly depends on the day of the week, so plan your time carefully. On Mondays, the complex is open from 11:00 to 22:30. From Tuesday to Friday, flights take place from 12:00 to 22:00.

On weekends, the center opens earlier: on Saturday, doors are open from 8:30 AM to 8:30 PM, and on Sunday — from 8:30 AM to 9:00 PM. This extended schedule allows you to choose a convenient time for either a morning energy boost or evening entertainment.

Nearby

Exploring the surroundings of Sion can be a wonderful addition to your visit to the wind tunnel. This city is famous for its historical monuments, medieval architecture, and picturesque views of the Alps, so after your flights, it is worth dedicating some time to a cultural program.
