Imagine a place where the elegance of European Baroque meets the refinement of Eastern traditions. The Lukang Folk Arts Museum is not just an exhibition space, but a magnificent architectural monument located near the city of Taichung on the island of Taiwan. The former residence of the wealthy Koo family today opens its doors to everyone who wants to touch the history and culture of the region.

The complex consists of two unique buildings. The first is the Yen Building, built in 1919 according to the design of a Japanese architect; it impresses with its majestic domes and Meiji-style symmetry. The second, the Gu Feng Building, is a classic 18th-century wood-and-brick structure reflecting the spirit of southern Fujian. Together, they create a unique ensemble considered one of the most beautiful private buildings on the island.
Inside the museum is an impressive collection of more than 6,000 artifacts. You can see everything from exquisite antique furniture and embroidery to musical instruments and religious shrines. Each exhibit tells its own story of Lukang's prosperous times, turning a visit into a fascinating journey through time.
