The interior of the establishment immediately catches the eye: the walls are decorated with hundreds of basketballs signed by visitors and rare photographs of sports stars. Owners Mike and Shelly Luciano have created a unique space where every guest can feel like a celebrity by leaving their signature on a ball, joining a massive collection of more than 160 exhibits.

Special attention is paid to the atmosphere here—it’s homey and relaxed. Despite the sports theme, Mike's Court is family-oriented, featuring a separate dining area where you can enjoy a quiet dinner with children away from the bustling bar. What to Do

The main reason to come to Mike's Court is to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of a classic American sports pub, reminiscent of the famous TV series "Cheers." It’s a place for conversation, meeting new people, and, of course, cheering for your favorite teams. Be sure to try the baked Italian hoagie—regulars claim it's the best in the area.

If you're here for the first time, prepare for a local tradition: newcomers are often invited to sign a basketball, which then takes its place on a shelf among hundreds of others. It’s a great way to leave your mark on the establishment's history. Also, look out for the "named" items on the menu, called after regular customers—this highlights the owners' special connection with their guests.

For fans of hearty food, this is a true paradise: huge portions of nachos, personal pizzas, and juicy sandwiches perfectly complement the game-watching experience. Owner Mike often greets guests personally, adding warmth and sincerity to the visit. It’s the perfect spot for a relaxed evening where everyone feels like they belong.

Getting There

The establishment is located in the central part of the city at 1908 5th St APT 1. Finding Mike's Court is easy using GPS, even though the bar is tucked away from the noisy main thoroughfares, which gives it a special, cozy feel.

History & Facts

The history of this place began in 1993, when Mike Luciano opened the doors of his establishment on the site of the former Henry’s Tavern. It started small: the menu had only a couple of types of sandwiches, and the walls were practically empty. The first significant exhibit was a signed photograph of the legendary basketball coach Bobby Knight, which Mike received simply by writing him a letter.

Over time, the collection grew to incredible proportions thanks to the owner's enthusiasm and the support of famous athletes such as Mike Ditka. Today, the bar's walls are a true museum of sports glory. Mike's wife, Shelly Luciano, played a special role in the business's development, turning a simple menu into a full-fledged gastronomic map by adding family recipes and seasonal novelties.

In more than 30 years of existence, Mike's Court has transformed from a local bar into a true Pennsylvania legend. This was largely due to the internet: glowing reviews from travelers on major tourism portals attract people from all over the country who want to experience that genuine atmosphere of sincere American hospitality.

Time Needed

For a standard visit, including a leisurely lunch or dinner and a look at the unique collection of autographs, 1–2 hours is usually sufficient. This is enough time to soak in the atmosphere and enjoy the signature dishes.

However, if you plan to visit Mike's Court on the day of an important sports match, you should set aside much more time. Fans often stay here for several hours to watch the game on the big screens in the company of like-minded people. On such days, the establishment becomes a hub of excitement and friendly socializing.
