What to Do

At Lake Las Vegas Water Sports, everyone will find something to their liking: from meditative gliding on the water to breath-taking extremes. One of the most popular experiences is e-foil — an electric hydrofoil that allows you to literally fly above the surface of the lake. For those who prefer the classics, modern kayaks and SUP boards are available, and a paddle accompanied by light music is a great way to relax.

Families and couples should check out the electric boats. They are easy to operate, move smoothly across the lake, and allow you to have a small picnic right on the water while enjoying the silence and beautiful scenery. If you've come with a large group, be sure to visit the aqua park on the water — an obstacle course made of inflatable elements that provides a boost of adrenaline and fun.

For special occasions, you can rent a yacht for a private charter, which is ideal for celebrating a birthday or a romantic evening at sunset. Professional staff are always ready to provide an introductory briefing, so even beginners will feel confident and safe on the water.

Getting There

The attraction is located in the scenic Henderson area, about 20–30 minutes' drive from the famous Strip. If you are arriving by car, it is most convenient to follow Interstate 215 or Lake Mead Parkway. There is parking available for visitors on-site, making a trip in a rental car very comfortable.

For those who prefer public transport, you can use the RTC bus network traveling from the center to Henderson. However, keep in mind that a taxi ride or a short walk might be required from the nearest bus stop to the lake itself, so many tourists choose Uber or Lyft services for a direct trip to the park entrance.

If you are planning an active day with your own gear or simply want to save time, a personal car or taxi remains the preferred option. The drive to the lake is quite scenic in itself, allowing you to see Nevada's desert landscapes transition into the Lake Las Vegas oasis.

History & Facts

The history of this amazing oasis began back in the 1960s. Entrepreneur J. Carlton Adair was the first to see the potential of this land and envisioned creating a luxury resort here with an artificial reservoir to be called Lake Adair. However, due to financial difficulties and legal delays, the project remained only a bold dream on paper for many years.

The idea got a second wind in the 1980s when the rights to the project passed to Transcontinental Properties. Between 1988 and 1991, massive engineering work was carried out: construction of the dam was completed, and an artificial lake of about 130 hectares was created. This transformed an arid patch of desert into one of the most prestigious holiday destinations in the city's outskirts.

A major milestone was 1993, when the development of the first residential area, SouthShore, began on the shores of the lake. The opening of the golf club designed by the legendary Jack Nicklaus finally secured Lake Las Vegas's status as an elite destination. Today, the water park is part of the rich legacy of transforming the desert into a blooming resort.

Time Needed

To fully enjoy your time at Lake Las Vegas Water Sports, it is recommended to allocate 2 to 4 hours for your visit. This is enough time to undergo the necessary briefing, get comfortable with the equipment, and take a leisurely trip around the lake on a kayak or SUP board.

If you plan to combine several activities — for example, renting an electric boat and visiting the floating aqua park — it's better to set aside half a day. Don't forget to factor in time to relax in the sun and have a snack while enjoying the views so that your trip is stress-free and unhurried.

Working Hours

The water sports center is open to visitors daily, but the operating hours vary slightly depending on the day of the week. From Monday to Friday, the park welcomes guests from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and on Saturday and Sunday, the doors open a bit earlier — from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Please note that visits are currently by reservation only. This helps avoid queues and guarantees equipment availability for your arrival, so we recommend planning your visit in advance through the official website.
