How to get to Gander

A journey to Gander is a visit to a legendary city on the island of Newfoundland, renowned for its rich aviation history and exceptional hospitality. If direct tickets are unavailable, one can consider flying to neighbouring cities: the nearest airport is located in the city of Grand Falls-Windsor. Also, many travellers arrive in Deer Lake or the provincial capital, St. John's, to then continue the journey by land.

Currently, it is impossible to get to Gander by train, as passenger railway services on the island of Newfoundland have been completely discontinued. The railway tracks were dismantled and converted into T'Railway park zones.

The nearest major cities, such as Grand Falls-Windsor, Deer Lake, and St. John's, are also inaccessible by train. To travel through this part of Canada, it is recommended to use intercity buses or rent a car.

Bus services on the island of Newfoundland are limited, and direct trips to Gander may depend on seasonality and the current schedules of private carriers. Most often, routes run along the Trans-Canada Highway, connecting the region's main settlements.
