General Weather Overview

The climate in the city of El Dabaa can be described as arid but tempered by its proximity to the coast, which is typical for the northern part of Egypt. The weather here is distinguished by enviable stability: extreme temperature fluctuations are rare, and the sun shines for most of the year. Overall, this destination offers warm and comfortable conditions for travellers, avoiding the exhausting heat characteristic of the country's southern regions.

The year here is clearly divided into two main periods: a hot summer and a mild winter. The summer months, from June to September, bring high temperatures, with the air warming up on average to +27...+31°C. This is the ideal time for a beach holiday, as rain is completely absent during this period. Winter, lasting from December to February, remains quite mild: during the day, the thermometer stays around +17...+19°C, although nights can be cool.

A characteristic feature of the local climate is exceptional dryness. Rainfall in El Dabaa is an extremely rare occurrence; even in the "wettest" winter months, a minimal amount of rain falls, and from spring to late autumn, the sky remains practically cloudless. Thanks to this, tourists can confidently plan trips without fearing that prolonged downpours will spoil their holiday, enjoying clear weather practically all year round.

Temperature

The climate in El Dabaa is distinguished by its mildness and the absence of extreme weather conditions, making this region attractive for travellers. The coolest period falls in January and February: in these months, the average daily temperature is a comfortable 17–18°C, while at night the air cools down to 11°C. Winter here is mild, which is excellent for long walks and excursions without exhausting heat.

The summer season brings stable warmth, characteristic of Egypt's Mediterranean coast. The hottest month is traditionally August, when maximum figures reach 31.5°C, and the average temperature holds at 27.7°C. June and July also delight with sunny weather with daily highs from 29°C to 31°C. Thanks to the coastal location, the summer heat here is borne much more easily than in the interior of the continent.

The transitional seasons offer an ideal balance of warmth and freshness. Already in May, the air warms up to 26°C during the day, and October retains a summer mood with maximums around 26.5°C. It is worth noting that daily temperature fluctuations are quite perceptible here: the difference between day and night readings is usually about 6–8 degrees. Therefore, despite warm days, evenings bring pleasant coolness, especially in spring and autumn.

Precipitation

The climate in the city of El Dabaa is characterized by exceptional dryness, so precipitation here is an extremely rare phenomenon. If you are planning a trip between April and September, you need not worry about rain at all: statistics record a complete absence of precipitation and zero rainy days during these months. This time is ideal for beach holidays and excursions under cloudless skies.

The winter period brings slight changes, although calling it a "rainy season" is only nominal. The cloudiest month is considered to be January, when there are on average about 6 days with precipitation, however, their intensity is minimal (only about 1 mm). In December, February, and November, short-term rainfall is also possible (about 4 days per month), which more often resembles light drizzle and ends quickly without interfering with tourists' plans.

In the off-season, for example, in March and October, the probability of precipitation is even lower — only about 2 days per month. Overall, the weather in this region of Egypt remains consistently dry throughout the year, and you will most likely not need an umbrella on your journey.

What to Pack

When packing for a trip to El Dabaa, it is important to consider the features of the region's Mediterranean climate. In summer, from June to September, hot and dry weather prevails, so the basis of your wardrobe should consist of light items made from natural fabrics, such as cotton and linen. The sun here is very active, so be sure to pack a wide-brimmed hat, high-quality sunglasses, and cream with a high level of protection (SPF 30-50). For beach holidays, you will need modest swimwear and special footwear if you plan to enter the water in rocky areas.

If your trip is planned for the winter months or the off-season (from November to March), the approach to packing should be different. During the day, the temperature remains pleasant, but evenings can be quite cool, especially due to the wind from the sea. During this period, it is best to use the layering principle: take t-shirts, a warm jumper or hoodie, as well as a windbreaker or light jacket. Although rainfall in Egypt is rare, cloudy days are possible in winter, so having an umbrella or raincoat would not be amiss.

Regardless of the time of year, pay special attention to footwear. For excursions and long walks, comfortable, worn-in trainers or sandals with good foot support are ideal. Also, please remember the cultural norms of the country: for visiting public places outside the beach zone, it is recommended to wear clothing that covers shoulders and knees. Do not forget to take a small first aid kit and repellents so that nothing distracts you from your relaxation.
