What to Do

At Le Cafe Brun, everyone will find something to their liking depending on the time of day. During the day, it is the perfect place for leisurely relaxation on the terrace: you can order a glass of chilled rosé and simply watch the world go by, soaking up the atmosphere of Old Antibes. The bistro-style kitchen serves hearty Mediterranean dishes that are perfect for a light lunch.

As evening falls, the venue transforms. A team of professional bartenders and servers creates an energetic and fun atmosphere. Here, you can try signature cocktails or craft beer to the sounds of live music or the hum of lively conversation. This spot is particularly popular among yacht crews and locals, ensuring an authentic experience.

For those traveling with family or pets, Le Cafe Brun offers special comfort. The establishment provides high chairs and changing tables for children, and there is always a water bowl for four-legged friends. This makes the bar a truly welcoming space where every visitor is greeted with a smile.

Getting There

Le Cafe Brun is located in the heart of the Old Town at 8 Rue Aubernon. Thanks to its location near the Provençal market and Port Vauban, it is easily accessible for those already strolling through the historic center. The narrow, picturesque streets make the walk to the bar a pleasant part of your journey.

If you are arriving from Nice Côte d'Azur Airport (NCE), the most convenient way is to take the TER train or the Lignes d'Azur bus, which will take you to Antibes station in about 20–30 minutes. From the station, you can walk to the cafe in 10–15 minutes, heading towards the port.

For drivers, it is important to remember that traffic is restricted in the Old Town and the streets are extremely narrow. It is recommended to leave your car in one of the paid parking lots near Port Vauban or in the city center, and then continue on foot. You can also always use taxi services or mobile apps to call a driver to the nearest accessible point to Rue Aubernon.

History & Facts

The story of Le Cafe Brun began in 2016 when Ben and Bea James decided to realize their dream of opening their own establishment in the south of France. They chose a building that formerly housed an old bakery (boulangerie) in the historic center and carefully preserved many of its original features, integrating them into the modern design of this cozy bar-bistro.

The owners brought a wealth of international experience to the project. Ben trained in culinary arts at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu school in London and worked at well-known British establishments such as Burger & Lobster. Before opening their own cafe, the couple worked for the family wine brand Maison Mirabeau near Saint-Tropez, which ultimately solidified their love for the Provençal lifestyle.

Today, this place is a true family project, where even the names of the team members (Michel, Julien, Marie, and others) are familiar to regular guests. The special charm of the establishment lies in the fact that it has preserved the spirit of old Antibes while becoming a popular meeting spot for modern travelers and yacht crews wintering in the nearby port.

Time Needed

If you're just stopping by Le Cafe Brun for a glass of wine or a cup of coffee, 1 hour should be plenty. This is enough time to enjoy the interior of the former bakery and observe the slow-paced life of the old quarters.

If you're planning a full dinner with a cocktail tasting and Mediterranean appetizers, it's better to set aside 2–3 hours. The evening atmosphere here encourages long conversations set to music, and the lively rhythm of the place makes you lose track of time.

Working Hours

Le Cafe Brun welcomes guests daily throughout the year, though operating hours change depending on the season. In the summer period (from April to October), the cafe is open from 12:00 PM to 2:30 AM (opening at 5:30 PM on Monday and Tuesday). In the winter months (from November to March), the bar's doors are usually open daily from 5:30 PM to 12:30 AM.

As the schedule may be adjusted during holidays or for private events, it is recommended to check the official website or look for the latest opening times on the establishment's social media pages before your visit.
