The Palais des Festivals et des Congrès is undoubtedly the heart of the social and cultural life not only of Cannes but of all France. This venue gained worldwide fame thanks to the legendary Cannes Film Festival, which attracts A-list stars every year. It is here, on the famous red carpet, that one of the most vibrant events in the world of cinema unfolds.
The modern palace building, designed by architects Hubert Bennett and François Druet, opened in 1982, replacing the old municipal casino. Built in the Brutalist style, its appearance can be controversial — some locals even jokingly refer to it as "the bunker" — but its functionality and scale are impressive. The total area of the complex is approximately 28,000 square meters, making it an ideal venue for events of any level.
In addition to the film festival, the Palais is a major business hub, hosting international congresses, exhibitions, forums, and concerts year-round. Inside, there are 18 halls and numerous exhibition spaces equipped with the latest technology. It is not just a landmark but a key economic and cultural driver for the entire region, a place where the history of film and business is made. Right next to the palace is the famous Star-Studded Walk, where you can see the handprints of global celebrities.
