Schlossplatz, or Palace Square, is the beating heart of Stuttgart and the largest square in the city. Located in the very center of Germany, it is not just a transport hub but a true magnet for residents and tourists alike. It is the perfect place for walking, relaxing on well-kept lawns, and meeting friends, making it a convenient starting point for exploring the city. The square serves as a venue for major city events, from open-air concerts to Christmas markets.

The architectural centerpiece of the square is the majestic New Palace (Neues Schloss) — the last major Baroque residence built in Germany. Its construction began in 1746. Together with the Old Castle located nearby, it creates a unique ensemble connecting different eras. Today, the New Palace houses ministries of the state of Baden-Württemberg.
Schlossplatz is surrounded by other significant landmarks, including the Art Museum and two beautiful fountains installed in 1863. The famous Königstraße shopping street begins here — one of the longest pedestrian zones in Europe, stretching 1.2 kilometers from the main station through the entire central part of the city. Thanks to its location, Schlossplatz is the starting point for exploring Stuttgart's main attractions.
