The "wettest" months in terms of the number of rainy days are October (on average 23 days with precipitation) and September (22 days), when significant amounts of rainfall for the region are also recorded – 6 mm and 5 mm respectively. Even in these months, despite the frequency, rains can be short-lived.

An interesting feature of Cozumel's climate is that even in months with a large number of so-called "wet days", the total amount of fallen moisture often remains small. For example, in January with 16 days of precipitation, only 2 mm falls, and in December – 3 mm with the same number of rainy days. This suggests that rains on the island are most often not prolonged and should not drastically affect the plans of holidaymakers, quickly giving way to sunny weather.

When planning a trip to Cozumel, remember that a warm tropical climate awaits you all year round. The basis of your wardrobe should be light and breathable items made from natural fabrics such as cotton or linen: shorts, T-shirts, sundresses, and, of course, swimwear. Don't forget sunscreen with high SPF, sunglasses, and a head covering, such as a wide-brimmed hat, for protection against the bright sun. Comfortable footwear, such as sandals or light trainers, will be indispensable for walking around the island and the beach, as the temperature even in the "coolest" months rarely drops below 23°C.

Although the temperature in Cozumel remains comfortable all year, it is worth considering precipitation patterns. The period from May to November is characterized by an increase in the number of rainy days, peaking in September and October (up to 22-23 days with precipitation per month), although the total millimeters of rainfall remains low. This means that rains are often brief. Therefore, a light waterproof jacket or a compact umbrella may come in very handy so as not to interrupt your plans. Also useful will be insect repellent, especially for evening walks or visiting natural areas. Although evenings are warm, a light wrap or a long-sleeved shirt may be useful for sun protection during the day or for comfort in air-conditioned rooms.
