The European Bison Sanctuary is a unique natural site hidden in the dense forests of Wolin National Park. Located near the resort town of Międzyzdroje, this sanctuary is one of the most significant ecological locations Poland has to offer nature lovers.
The primary mission of this place is the conservation and breeding of the European bison, Europe's largest mammal, which was once on the brink of extinction. Here, conditions as close as possible to their natural habitat have been created for the animals, allowing guests to observe them in a semi-wild setting.
In addition to the legendary bison, you can find red deer, roe deer, and wild boar in the sanctuary's enclosures. Special attention is drawn to the white-tailed eagles—majestic birds that, for various reasons, cannot return to the wild. The sanctuary serves not only as a tourist destination but also as an important rehabilitation center for local fauna.
