The Maria Konopnicka Museum is a charming branch of the District Museum, located in the heart of Suwałki. It occupies a historic manor building from the first half of the 19th century, where the famous writer and poet, one of the major cultural figures Poland takes pride in, was born in 1842.

The architecture of the house resembles a classic noble manor with a characteristic gabled roof and a central passage that has been transformed today into an elegant hall. Inside, visitors are greeted by a modern exhibition titled "Behind the Closed Doors of Time," which masterfully combines authentic household items of the era with multimedia technologies that bring the past to life.
In addition to the main house, the 0.5-hectare museum complex includes a cozy English garden and a wing for temporary exhibitions. After a global renovation in 2019, the museum became an important point on the cultural map, offering guests not only historical knowledge but also a deep immersion into the atmosphere of 19th-century Suwałki.
