Imagine stepping back in time to an elegant 1920s apartment. This is exactly the experience offered by the Amsterdam School Museum, located in the city of Kaunas. This unique site is housed in a building erected in 1928 and is the only example of Amsterdam School expressionist architecture in all of Lithuania.
The museum occupies an authentic 136-square-meter apartment on Vytauto Avenue. It is not simply a display behind glass, but a living space, carefully restored by enthusiasts Karolis Banis and Petras Gaidamavičius. Every item here—from the exquisite Art Deco furniture to the original lighting fixtures and tableware—tells a story of the success and aesthetics of the First Republic of Lithuania.

The building immediately catches the eye with its unusual facade, decorated with sculptures of Mercury and Hephaestus. Inside, visitors find an atmosphere of high modernism where every interior detail has been selected with impeccable taste, allowing the modern traveler to see what comfort and luxury looked like a century ago.
