St. Hedwig's Cathedral is the spiritual heart of the city of Zielona Góra and one of the most significant architectural monuments that Poland is proud of. This majestic brick church, built in the Gothic style, is a three-aisled basilica whose history dates back to the 13th century. The cathedral stands out for its austere but imposing tower, added in the Neoclassical style, which dominates the historic city center.

Inside the cathedral, visitors will find rich decor reflecting the change of eras and artistic tastes. Here you can see a Baroque choir gallery from the 17th century, an elegant Neo-Gothic pulpit, and an antique organ created by the famous Schlag und Söhne company. Of particular value are the late Gothic 15th-century sculptures depicting St. Hedwig and St. Anne with the Virgin and Child, which have miraculously survived to this day.
The architecture of the church impresses with its vaults: here you can see complex stellar and net ceilings supported by powerful polygonal pillars. The cathedral walls are decorated with Renaissance and Baroque tombstones, turning the interior into a veritable museum of stone sculpture. It is a place where the grandeur of Gothic meets the sophistication of subsequent centuries, creating a unique atmosphere for every guest.
